Lotus of Siam: The Khao Soi Las Vegas Craves Daily
Lotus of Siam is back in its original 1999 home on Sahara Ave in Las Vegas, and the khao soi is the bowl the city craves daily. What to order, when to go, and why the off-Strip Thai room still wins.

Some restaurants earn their reputation. Lotus of Siam had its reputation dragged through four years of exile and came back anyway. The off-Strip Thai room that put Las Vegas on the serious food map is back in its original 1999 home in the Commercial Center on Sahara Ave, reopened in May 2026, expanded, and the city showed up like it never left.
This is not a Strip restaurant. It sits at 953 E Sahara Ave, far from the neon, in a strip mall that has no business housing one of the most important Thai restaurants in America. That has always been the point. The room fills fast, so regulars book ahead, and Google holds it at 4.7 stars from diners who keep saying the same thing: the khao soi is the bowl they crave daily.
The bowl
Khao soi is northern Thai comfort food, and this is the version people cross town for: coconut curry broth over egg noodles, with short rib or crisp duck on top. The duck is the move. Shattering skin, rich meat, the broth deep and fragrant, the noodles holding their own underneath. It is the kind of bowl that ruins other bowls for you.
One recent review calls the khao soi merely average, and we respect the honesty. But the consensus still wins. When hundreds of diners independently land on the same dish as the thing they crave, that is not hype. That is a kitchen doing the work.
What to order
The Khao Soi, with crisp duck, is the order. Full stop. Beside it, the deep-fried garlic prawns, eaten shell-on. Trust the server on this one. The shells fry to a shattering crisp and the garlic does the rest. Then the crispy duck panang curry, rich and red and unapologetic. Three dishes, no notes.

The room
The new room is bigger than the original, but it keeps the old soul: warm wood, low light, a dining room that feels like a neighborhood joint that happens to serve destination food. The bar runs deep, the staff moves like people who have done this for decades, and the whole place hums on a weeknight.

If you go
Lotus of Siam, 953 E Sahara Ave, Las Vegas. Off the Strip, in the Commercial Center. Book ahead. It fills fast, and the regulars were waiting four years for this room to come back. They are not giving up their tables.
THE BOTTOM LINE: Yes, we would eat this. The khao soi alone is worth the drive down Sahara. Order the duck, eat the prawn shells, and thank us later.
